Questions raised after online drinks firm Spirit Ed collapsed into administration with £15 MILLION POUNDS in losses

The trade publication The Grocer has reported that the former Dover31 company has called in administrators Colin Hardman and Clare Lloyd, partner and associate director of Smith and Williamson after a difficult trading period.

ICSM understands that the company that also runs subscription businesses The Gin Club and previously Off the Still, as well as drinks wholesalers Vanquish and OnStock was facing massive losses of more than £15 million.

Ian Carrotte of ICSM said there were questions over how a business in that sector could run up losses of that size as it will mean some suppliers will be left high and dry.
